Acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer Juan Winans has released his powerful new single “NOW,” featuring Grammy-winning vocalist Lalah Hathaway. Dropped on June 13 in honor of Black Music Month, the track is already sparking conversations with its urgent message and emotional depth.

Rooted in themes of justice, liberty, and equality, “NOW” incorporates stirring excerpts from Congressman John Lewis’s legendary 1963 March on Washington speech, amplifying the song’s deep call for societal change. Originally inspired by a personal moment of heartbreak six years ago, the track serves as Winans’ response to injustice, fear, and ongoing inequity—emotions that remain painfully relevant today.

“With voices like Lalah Hathaway’s and the words of Rep. John Lewis, I hope this song inspires us all to love more deeply, reflect more honestly, and rise—together,” said Winans

.

The release of “NOW” marks a compelling chapter in Juan Winans’ career as he steps confidently into the spotlight with a solo project that is as socially conscious as it is musically rich. Known for his collaborations with artists such as Mary Mary, Ledisi, Erica Campbell, Michelle Williams, TobyMac, and the late Heavy D, Winans has long been a force behind the scenes in gospel, R&B, and contemporary music.

In addition to his work as a recording artist, Winans earned widespread acclaim for his portrayal of BeBe Winans in the musical Born For This, winning the 2019 NAACP Theater Award for Best Male Lead.

“NOW” also offers an early glimpse into Winans’ forthcoming debut solo album, expected later this year, and signals a bold new chapter in the iconic Winans family legacy.

“NOW” is available now on all major digital streaming platforms.
