Jonathan Nelson Returns with Uplifting New Single "When I Think (I Thank)" – Available June 13th
Acclaimed gospel songwriter and worship leader Jonathan Nelson—known for penning some of the church’s most beloved anthems for over two decades—returns with a powerful new single, "When I Think (I Thank)," just in time to elevate your summer playlist.
Recorded live during a spontaneous Pop-Up Night of Worship in his hometown of Baltimore on the first day of spring, this song is more than just a new release—it’s a heartfelt expression of gratitude. "When I Think (I Thank)" is a musical tribute to Nelson’s late father, Bishop James D. Nelson Sr., whose signature phrase, “Think about it and thank about it,” became a staple of worship and praise in their congregation. Inspired by those very words, Jonathan crafted a hook that captures the essence of worship rooted in reflection and thankfulness. As Nelson shares, “When I think, it makes me thank.”
A native of Baltimore and the visionary behind the group PURPOSE, Jonathan Nelson first rose to national prominence with his breakthrough song “Healed,” later recorded by Donald Lawrence. Over the years, he has become a defining voice in urban praise and worship, earning multiple Stellar and Dove Award nominations and touching audiences around the world through his music and ministry.
"When I Think (I Thank)" will be available on all digital platforms June 13th.
