Carr’s journey with the Stellar Awards holds deep personal significance. Adding to the excitement, gospel music icon Kirk Franklin will return as host of the Stellar Awards. Widely regarded as one of the most transformative figures in gospel music history, Franklin’s groundbreaking career has expanded the reach of gospel across generations, nations, and the global music industry.
“As we celebrate another incredible year for gospel music, I am grateful for every opportunity God continues to provide,” Carr said. “From honoring visionaries like Tyler Perry at The Impact Awards to being recognized by the Stellar Awards, I remain committed to using my gifts to inspire, encourage, and make a positive impact around the world.”
The 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will take place Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Spectrum Center, located at 333 East Trade Street in Charlotte, North Carolina.
