Some voices do more than sing. They remain with us.
They carry memories, awaken emotions, and remind us that although someone may no longer be physically present, the gift they shared can continue speaking for generations.
For Micah Lee, the voice of Nikki Ross represents all of that and so much more.
Lee first met Ross in 2008. What began as a friendship developed into a bond rooted in family, creativity, music, and unforgettable memories. She was more than someone he recorded with. She became his sister.
In 2011, Lee and Ross recorded music together that the world never had the opportunity to hear. The recordings remained tucked away on his computer for 15 years, waiting for what Lee believed would eventually become part of an album.
He never imagined that releasing one of those songs would become a way to honor her memory.
“Still feels unreal,” Lee shared. “I never imagined that one day, sharing this music would become a way to honor her.”
Today, Lee is opening the vault and sharing “Conqueror,” featuring Nikki Ross and produced by James Wright III. The song has been completely remixed and remastered, allowing the recording they created together so many years ago to be heard with new life and clarity.
But “Conqueror” is more than an unreleased song.
It is a preserved moment between two people whose connection extended beyond the studio. It is a reminder of the creativity they shared, the memories they made, and the impact Nikki left on everyone who experienced her voice and spirit.
Most importantly, it is a tribute to a woman whose gift continues to speak.
“Nikki, you are still making an impact,” Lee expressed.
Through this recording, those who knew and loved Nikki can hear her voice again. Those discovering her for the first time can experience the power, passion, and presence that made her unforgettable.
Grief has a way of reminding us how deeply someone mattered. Yet legacy reminds us that love, purpose, and impact do not end when a life does.
Nikki Ross may no longer be here in the way those who loved her wish she could be, but her voice remains. Her music remains. Her influence remains. Every note carries a piece of her story, and every person who listens becomes part of keeping that story alive.
Micah Lee is encouraging everyone who knew Nikki, loved Nikki, or is hearing her for the first time to listen, remember, and share her name and voice with the world.
“Her legacy deserves to be heard.”
And now, through “Conqueror,” it will be.
Nikki Ross was more than a remarkable voice. She was a sister, a friend, a creative force, and a gift whose impact cannot be measured by the number of years she was here.
Her voice still echoes.
Her gift still speaks.
Her legacy still lives.
Nikki Ross, forever a Conqueror.
